Freehold Regional High School District Calendar 2026-2027

Freehold Regional High School District operates only grades nine through twelve. Students from eight sending communities complete the earlier grades in local K–8 systems before transferring into a six-school regional high-school district. The move changes the board of education, registration office, family portal, transportation contacts, and academic system even when the assigned high school is geographically close to home.

Every incoming student first has a home high school determined by municipality and address. The district’s twelve specialized Magnet Programs create a separate route: eighth graders from sending schools may apply competitively, and admitted students attend the campus that houses the selected program. The district also offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme at Freehold Township High School and Howell High School. IB is a distinct option whose current entry requirements should be checked separately rather than assumed to match Magnet admissions.

The two essential questions are the default home school and whether an approved program placement changes the campus. Magnet admission can send a student to a school other than the ordinary home high school. IB is available at two campuses and follows its own program rules. Keeping these paths separate prevents all specialized options from being treated as one admissions system.
