About Marlboro Township Public Schools
Marlboro Township Public Schools operates the local preschool-through-eighth-grade route. Its regular network includes five elementary schools and two middle schools, but the kindergarten map has a special feature: children zoned for Asher Holmes or Robertsville attend kindergarten at the David C. Abbott Early Learning Center before moving into their regular elementary assignment. Abbott also houses an integrated preschool program with a separate application and screening process. Depending on the enrollment stage and available capacity, the district’s annual notice may use a lottery, first-come processing for additional openings, or a waiting list.
Those arrangements make early-childhood placement and the later elementary path two separate questions. A kindergarten year at Abbott does not turn Abbott into a K–5 feeder school, and a preschool placement does not establish the student’s eventual elementary boundary. The full K–8 route should be traced from the home address through the appropriate elementary and middle school.
After eighth grade, Marlboro students leave the township district for the Freehold Regional High School District. The regional home high school must be checked through FRHSD’s current boundary information, and admission to one of the regional Magnet programs can place a selected student on a campus other than the default home school. Marlboro combines an early one-year routing exception with a later cross-district transition.
