About New Brunswick Public Schools
New Brunswick’s secondary structure branches at both middle and high school. Nine neighborhood elementary schools form the main early-grade network, followed by New Brunswick Middle School and Pathways Middle School. The official enrollment assignment controls the middle-grade destination because the public directory stops short of a complete current elementary-to-middle table.
New Brunswick High School is the comprehensive campus and organizes students through institutes and preparatory academies. Health Sciences Technology High School uses a separate admissions process. P-TECH accepts applications from resident eighth graders and selects students by lottery; the program begins in grade nine and combines high-school work with Middlesex College coursework leading toward a diploma and an associate degree over four to six years.
These high-school routes use different entry mechanisms: regular assignment, independent admissions, and an application followed by lottery. Enrollment planning starts with the regular placement, followed by the current admissions calendar for Health Sciences Technology or P-TECH.
