Westfield Public Schools Calendar 2026-2027

Westfield begins with a districtwide early-childhood stage. Lincoln Early Childhood Center houses preschool and kindergarten, and current district updates show kindergarten students visiting the six elementary schools they will enter for first grade. The first major assignment change occurs before grade one, when a common kindergarten population separates into Franklin, Jefferson, McKinley, Tamaques, Washington, or Wilson. Lincoln placement and the later elementary assignment are two different records.

Those elementary branches continue through grade five. Students then enter either Edison or Roosevelt Intermediate School for grades six through eight before the district reunites at Westfield High School. The term “intermediate” does not describe a one-year transition building here; both schools contain the full three middle grades. A child can begin in one centralized kindergarten building, receive an address-based elementary placement, and encounter another branch at grade six before the route becomes common in ninth grade.
