Cherry Hill Public Schools Calendar 2026-2027

Cherry Hill’s eighteen-school network keeps more than one secondary branch alive through graduation. Twelve elementary schools feed Beck, Carusi, or Rosa International Middle School, and students ordinarily continue to Cherry Hill High School East or West. Coles operates as an alternative high-school program housed at East, but it is not a third comprehensive attendance-area high school.

The two-high-school structure gives the residence-based path lasting importance. Elementary and middle boundaries do not simply disappear into one townwide campus; East and West maintain separate activities, athletics, schedules, and school communities. Tracing the sequence beyond the elementary name is essential because the assigned middle and high school remain separate branches.

Cherry Hill also has a limited mechanism for changing the final branch. The district’s Secondary School Open Enrollment process is available to students entering grade nine who want to request the other comprehensive high school. A request is not the same as a guaranteed transfer, and it does not create open enrollment at every grade. This distinction makes the system easier to read: address establishes the ordinary East or West route, while a time-limited grade-nine application may create an exception. The district’s central structural question is not whether students eventually merge, but which of two high-school communities they enter and whether the formal open-enrollment window applies.
