About Trenton Public School District
Trenton uses a five-stage structure that is more segmented than a conventional elementary–middle–high ladder. Neighborhood elementary schools serve kindergarten through grade three. Six intermediate schools cover grades four through six, followed by three middle schools for grades seven and eight.
High school begins with another distinct transition. Trenton Ninth Grade Academy is organized for grade nine, while Trenton Central High School serves the later comprehensive years. Capital City High School is a separate secondary setting whose placement process should be confirmed through current enrollment records.
A Trenton child may change buildings after grades three, six, eight, and nine. Current placement information governs each transition. The intermediate schools and Ninth Grade Academy are distinct stages in the district’s five-part structure.
