Egg Harbor Township School District Calendar 2026-2027

Egg Harbor Township organizes the early grades through two large school complexes with different internal grade arrangements. The Davenport Complex contains two schools serving preschool through grade three. The Swift-Slaybaugh Complex divides its younger students between a K–1 school and a grades 2–3 school. In both areas, a child may move between buildings before reaching the district’s upper-elementary stage.

Grade four is the first major consolidation point. Dr. Joyanne D. Miller School serves grades four and five, after which students divide again between Alder Avenue Middle School and Fernwood Avenue Middle School for grades six through eight. The two middle-school branches finally come together at Egg Harbor Township High School. The sequence alternates between separation and merger: two early complexes, one upper-elementary school, two middle schools, and one high school.

Inside the high school, academies add a program decision without creating another attendance boundary. Incoming ninth graders can apply to the Communications Academy, and the school also describes additional academic academies and concentrations. The home-school destination remains Egg Harbor Township High School; the application changes the student’s organized course pathway within that campus. Families should first identify the early-grade complex and later middle-school assignment, then treat the academy process as a separate high-school choice.
