Fort Lee Public Schools Calendar 2026-2027

Fort Lee begins with four numbered elementary schools serving kindergarten through grade four. The district then places all students at the Lewis F. Cole site, but the next four years are divided into two formally distinct schools: Lewis F. Cole Intermediate School for grades five and six and Lewis F. Cole Middle School for grades seven and eight. The shared address can make the transition look smaller than it is.

Intermediate and middle school have separate school identities, leadership pages, grade-specific guidance, and student routines even though they occupy the same campus. A sixth grader moving into seventh grade may not change the daily destination, yet the student is entering a different school organization. That distinction affects which office, handbook, schedule, and staff directory a family should use.

After grade eight, the entire district continues to Fort Lee High School. The basic path is four local K–4 branches, one physical Cole campus with two sequential school organizations, and one high school. The useful structural fact is not simply that Fort Lee has an intermediate and a middle school; it is that the academic transition occurs without the geographic move families usually associate with changing schools.
