About Millburn Township Public Schools
Millburn places every fifth grader in a standalone districtwide school. Deerfield, Glenwood, Hartshorn, South Mountain, and Wyoming serve kindergarten through grade four. Their students then merge at Washington School for grade five only, move to Millburn Middle School for grades six through eight, and finish at Millburn High School.
Washington’s single-grade role is the distinctive feature. The elementary address matters through fourth grade, then the five attendance areas end at the same fifth-grade campus. Washington gives the combined class one year together before Millburn Middle School. After that merger, later building changes are set by grade level, not by another geographic assignment.
